Battle Training! Show Us What You've Got! -- Week 2 - Page 2 Empty Re: Battle Training! Show Us What You've Got! -- Week 2

Kani listens to the teachers instruct them on how the exercise is to play out. Her eyes locked on White Out for more reason than one as she listens to her call out the teams that would be facing each other. Her fingers were crossed as she stood on the heels of her feet. Thankfully the mask concealed most of her nervous expression. Hero... hero... hero...

Villain

Her heart sank a little as it was announced that she would be on the defending side of the training session. Playing the part of a villain. Did they do that on purpose? Surely not, they wouldn't think of her like that, it was random after all just... unfortunate. She let out a small sigh, letting her head hang some. "Villain..." She murmured to herself as she quietly walked over to the table to take a ear piece. She shook her head and tried to focus, she was going to be in a combat situation soon regardless of what side of it she was one. Geoff, Les... one of them was sleepy, maybe he would be slow to get to the bomb. Les... his quirk wouldn't push her around but she would have to watch out for things being thrown at her. She just has to get in close, that's all. That's where she can work best, that seemed like where Allison would work best too... yeah this could work, they could win!

"Do you really have more than one quirk? I've never heard of that before." Dammit, Edith.

Edith cringes at the notion of having to face off against Scarlet. Not only would fire not be a fun time to deal with when it comes to her plants, but she hopes this doesn't ruin a potential friendship. Also the notion of destroying security cameras is definitely nerve wracking. No wonton tree throwing for her.

Son cheerfully waves to Lyon as he passes, talking to him like a child. "Watch out for that edge, you might hurt yourself!"

They turn back to Edith, nodding. "Yeah, it's not like, common, or anything. I've got enough to cover the basics. Area effects, water, speed, some healing ones... I don't know the nitty gritty of your quirk, but there's gotta be something that'll help us kick maximum ass - aside from just us being there, I mean. Who knows, maybe our presence will catch us a solid win right off the bat?"

Son takes one of the earpieces and starts heading towards their designated building. They're not too worried about the students they're facing - a real hero destroys all who oppose them in any scenario. The important things will be keeping track of the scenario - focus on teamwork, enter building, touch bomb or capture villains, listen for Vigil's signal, and don't destroy security cameras. Done. Easy.

Edith follows Son to their building, earpiece in tow. "While it would be nice to win, I'm hoping more for the experience of facing other people. If they were to just give up, that would be a shame." Edith is the best at taking jokes.

"We should discuss how we can coordinate with each other, and what our strategy should be during our preparation time, don't you think? Preferably nothing too complicated."

Battle Training! Show Us What You've Got! -- Week 2 - Page 2 Empty As: Vigil

"So, now that you know who you're up against, let's go over the specific rules of the engagement, then we'll get started. First, here are your blueprints to the buildings you'll be in..."

Each student gets a copy of a simplified blueprint of the building; it details the floor plan of 5 levels of the training area, including the rooftop level. The building has a 40 x 30 meter footprint with a 5 meter perimeter of street included in the training area; you must remain within this area at all times during the training.

First Floor
This floor appears as an unfurnished hotel lobby; there are two large front entrances, as well as a rear loading dock and side emergency exit. Additionally, a Fire Escape scales the entire height of the building. The conference rooms to the left have shades covering their glass walls, and a couple pillars dot the otherwise open floor plan. A meter-high stage cuts into the rear, connecting to the exterior loading dock by a garage-style door. The ceilings on this level are 8 meters high.

Second Floor
The second floor is more crowded office space, there is a desk across from the elevator, as well as windows surrounding this level. A locked security door blocks entrance from those coming up from the first floor, an Auxiliary Staircase beyond this door connects to the rest of the upper levels as well. Several smaller offices occupy the front corner of the building, a supply closet and monitor room connect into the security office controlling the locked door. The main floor plan is full of cubicles with narrow walkways around them; each one standing about 2 meters high. The ceilings are 5 meters high on this level.

Third Floor
The layout of this floor is naturally labyrinthine, rooms are haphazardly built to make twisting hallways, with a central room accessible from two sides. There are no exterior windows on this level aside from the Fire Escape entrance, however the ceilings are 5 meters high.

Battle Training! Show Us What You've Got! -- Week 2 - Page 2 Empty As: Vigil

Fourth Floor
This floor has been left in a state of construction; there are no functional lights aside from the row of work lights hanging across the center of the building. Instead of walls, there are just lines of pillars dotting the entire floor. Wood planks and slight stacks of drywall have been left across the back of the building. There are several exterior windows across the front and left sides of the building. The Ceilings are 8 meters high.

Rooftop
The Roof is fairly open, lines of solar panels could make for decent cover, vents break up the middle and a few AC units give a bit of terrain. A satellite dish hangs over the corner of the building, and two full water tanks stand on another corner. The access stairs stand 4 meters above the rest of the roof line, with a 1 meter restraining wall border. If possible, you may fly above the building, but stay within the designated area regardless of height.

"Now, you will each get 5 minutes to discuss strategies with your partner. The Villain Teams will have an additional 2 Minutes to prepare themselves. After that, the Exercise will begin. The Time Limit is 10 minutes; the Victory Conditions are such;

Heroes:
-- Tie up Both Villains (This is accomplished in Combat Rules via Pinning.)
-- Find and Deactivate the Bomb (This is accomplished by spending 2 seconds flipping off a couple of switches on the bomb controls.)

Villains:
-- Tie Up both Heroes (As explained above.)
-- Defend the Bomb for All 10 Minutes.
VILLAIN TEAMS ONLY:

Additional Rules / Metrics:
-- The Bomb is pretty big (3m tall, 1m around) but only weighs 100 pounds. The Controls are built into it as a little computer panel with switches; it also displays the 10 minute countdown for the exercise.
-- Tying up an opponent is automatically if you successfully Pin them with the Capture Tape in hand-- if you lose the capture tape or Pin the target without using it, you will require another grapple check (automatic success on a pinned target) to tie them up for the sake of the rules; Upon being tied up, that person will no longer participate in the combat; in this case, they cannot be untied by their ally; consider being tied up as an equivalent to having been knocked out.

"Keep in mind that excessive force can get you disqualified; we will stop the exercise if things get out of hand. Let's get to it."

Battle Training! Show Us What You've Got! -- Week 2 - Page 2 Empty Combat Start (( OOC Reminder ))

Sun Jan 27, 2019 10:04 pm
With everyone's Strategy complete, combat will now begin. Technically, all these fights happen one at a time, but we're going to do them simultaneously for time reasons. This thread will now become the Observation Booth; you can comment on any other ongoing fight in here. All the fights have their own threads in Combat Logs-- only those participating in those fights should post there.

Furthermore, all posts in the combat thread should be kept in a SPOILER BOX; no one is to look in these except for ME, including your allies! I will determine what happens, and then respond to each of you in your own spoiler box. The icon for this is the page with the warning sign, just in case you haven't used them, and they look like this:
